Last month was  Castlevania’s 25th anniversary this month and while everyone is heaping praise on the series, I find I cannot join in on the celebration of vanquishing Dracula and his army of darkness, because – takes deep breath – I have never played a Castlevania game.  Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way I will also go on record saying that I while I have played Zelda I have never beaten a single game in the series and and regrettably missed out on not only Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.  And going even farther, the only Mario game I have beaten is the insanely awesome Super Mario RPG.
Now I grew up playing video games; BioShock and Final Fantasy are two of my favorites but I feel like my gaming experience is incomplete because I missed out on some bon-a-fide classics.  With the 3DS re-releasing Ocarina of Time and many of the older games available on the Wii Virtual Console, I may end up pushing the holiday releases back even further to catch up.
