PS3 owners can finally rejoice Gran Turismo 5 is finally out, the only game that has been more delayed is the next Duke Nukem, whenever that is supposed to come out. Announced back in E3 2006 or maybe it was E3 2007 who can remember that far back. This is really exciting and worth celebration that this particular game has finally come out to play.
Playing GT5 make it clear that the this really is the best driving simulator/racing game ever created. So lets all hail the king for the king has returned. No game that features cars or racing comes close to the full immersion that GT5 offers, the number of cars, the number of races, the gameplay modes, the licenses and the increasing difficulty of leveling up are all top notch. The details are really incredible, the way each car sounds and the turbo sounds are accurate, the customized exhaust makes the car sound really great, and the way that the tops of cars that are shiny reflect the trees buildings or sky are truly amazing. Damage is still a weird thing, because it doesn’t effect the way the cars drive or feel while racing, but there is a damage repair center so it makes damage weird.
There are more than a few racing types and a few unconventional types at that. Kart racing which is really tricky and a different driving game experience. Nascar mode with all its left hand turns and drafting. The Top Gear crew makes an appearance as well with some specific and weird challenges.
The only drawback is that fans of the series have had to wait far too long and the wait can sour the whole experience. If you have even a minute interest in cars, then you should give GT5 a spin. If you love cars and video games then this is a love letter to you, and this is proof that you love.
